Blaine’s musical endeavors and recording work spans electronic and global percussion, experimental sound, and interactive performance. Her collaborations with the Japanese taiko group Maze Daiko grounds her in the physicality and discipline of ensemble drumming, while her role in the pioneering all-women MIDI percussion ensemble D’Cuckoo brought her into large-scale, theatrical performances that fused rhythm, movement, and audience interaction in technologically mediated environments,.
Blaine’s projects expand into immersive and interdisciplinary territory. With Haunted by Waters and Pandemonaeon, she explored atmospheric blends of Celtic and Middle-Eastern soundscapes while her work with the Bindi Society focused on blending Indian chant traditions with marimba, percussion and harp textures to create a meditative quality.
